‘working to promote and protect the Exmoor Pony’

Welcome to our Website

Situated in the heart of the beautiful Exmoor National Park, the Exmoor Pony Centre is a small charity run business, owned by the Moorland Mousie Trust, working to promote and protect the endangered rare-breed Exmoor pony.

During these unprecedented times our Exmoor Pony Centre is closed to visitors, we hope to be able to re-open in the near future. Until then please keep in touch with us, follow our daily tasks and meet the ponies via our facebook and Instagram.

We have started our 'Kids Club' where you can download all things exmoor pony including quizzes and puzzles. Click here to go to our Kids Club

Latest News.....

24th May 2020

Tomorrow 17 Exmoor Pony Centre volunteers start a two week team challenge to raise £1,000 towards the Moorland Mousie Trust’s Covid 19 Appeal for £35,000.

With teams named after some of the Centre’s ponies, they will set off on a virtual tour of the perimeter of the Exmoor National Park, a total of 104.469 miles by walking, running, riding and any other exercise!

And to inject some fun, and ensure that sponsors get good value for their donations, a ‘Challenge Master’ will be issuing ad hoc tasks and diversions to the teams as they make their way around the moor.

Go here to donate to your favourite pony team: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/epc-volunteer-team-challenge and raise money for the ponies.

Updated Statement Covid-19 – Information for Visitors and Supporters

As the Covid 19 Crisis unfolds we would like to send all our supporters our very best wishes at this difficult time. We would like to assure everyone that the ponies are receiving the best of care and that whilst work at the Centre carries on, we have taken the decision to CLOSE TO THE PUBLIC WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. Protecting the well-being of our staff and visitors is our priority and we feel it would not be right to remain open. We urge everyone to follow the government guidelines and hope that we will be able to re-open in the future.
We shall be undertaking enhanced social media and fundraising notifications so please keep in touch with us and our work. We hope to continue to bring you news and some ‘light hearted’ relief from the current situation with updates and stories of our ponies.
Thank you for your understanding, stay safe, we hope for the best and that the charity will come out of this situation with the funds to continue and hope that we will be able to welcome visitors to the Exmoor Pony Centre in the future.
